We act for our clients on free competition and state aid matters in legal due diligence exercises. We perform concentration’s notifiability assessments in M&A projects and represent our clients in notifications before the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) and the European Commission in cases of concentrations control. Our firm also represents our clients before the European courts and the European Commission in relation to issues concerning free competition and state aid rules. We further act for our clients before EU and national regulatory authorities in cases of alleged horizontal or vertical collusions restrictive of competition. The team has also experience in advising on competition issues relating to market liberalization projects and privatization of public utilities.
Experience
We represent our clients in disputes concerning claims for damages for breach of competition law, protection against unfair competition and challenges of decisions of the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC).
- Representing a major multinational construction group before the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) in a case of alleged horizontal cartel in public tenders.
- Representing information society service providers before the National Commission for Telecommunications and Postal Services (EETT) in a case of alleged abuse of dominant position.
- Representing a major shipbuilding company before the EU Courts in a case of unlawful, abusive and incompatible state aids.
- Representing a major business group before the European Commission in a case concerning the grant of an allegedly unlawful and incompatible state aid to a competitor.
- Advising major pharmaceutical companies on the notification in terms of concentration’s control, of the respective acquisition of control before the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC).
- Representing two leading business software and services providers in a multi-layered and high-profile case against a payment service provider related to alleged breaches of anti-trust law and unfair competition practices.
